Project Strategies
Social Mobilization
We work closely with influential people such as traditional communicators and religious and social leaders as well as existing community structures including village development committees and village support groups to reach and engage with community members for their participation in and ownership of the programme.
A significant element of our social mobilization activities is to capacitate beneficiaries so that, with the support of trained community-based mobilizers, they can:
- Take charge in auditing their own environment, their community systems, their family and individual health practices
- Identify and act on their roles and responsibilities, and
- Demand actions from relevant stakeholders at different levels of governance and operations.
